Now us Hymenopteras (that's what we call ourselves) were buzzing inside our office beehives soon after the Queen Bee "J" dropped all the news about - We're all going to get 3 days off to go to The Off Price Show at the World Trade Center in a Pasay City on September 28 - 30, 2012!

It is very exciting for us busy geeky bees because it is all about our favorite topic - SHOPPING!!! It is our therapy as our jobs are definitely not easy. Lately, we haven't had a break at all... must have been 2 months already that we work even on Sundays. Looking at all our personal mobile phones and gadgets here in the office is a tell-tale sign that we really work hard for the best things in life! Really! But gadget-shopping is nothing in comparison to lifestyle brand shopping!

The Off Price Show event is not just like your mere bazaars, tiyange sale or whatsover where you'd be lucky to find originals on lifestyle brands because all you will ever find are export overruns, Triple-A's, Quadruple A's and stuff!

Their works will be featured in a special area of the shopping tent! We were like okay and slightly rolled our eyes as shopping would be more interesting for us! 

Then the Queen Bee finally dropped the highlight of the show that sent our private parts excited! OMG! There will be a series of 5 "FASHION SHOWS" by the Fashion Academy Manila with Elite Models during the 3 days shopping event! Mmmmm... Hot models walking down the ramp showcasing different merchandising from participating brands! Are we going to find them male models walking in BeckhamforH&M's? I guess we will have to find that one out!

I have always been open to experimenting with different kinds of moisturizer for my skin. I am one of the fortunate ones who only get the occasional zit breakouts during my period, and it is usually limited to one or two zits and always in the same place. I have experimented with all kinds of moisturizers, and I am no stranger to strange results. I have bought expensive creams such as La Prairie and Sisley, but the best product so far with really terrific results is Skin White Power Whitening Face Cream Classic. I picked this up in the grocery, and since then this become a staple in my bathroom. It is very cheap, about US$1.5 for a 20g bottle. I kid you not when I say that this product has made my skin glow. It has kept the zits away. Since I started using it, I no longer had breakouts during my period (okay, very seldom). My skin tone became even. It was only lately that I started using this for my hands, and although it has only been a few days, I have seen some progress.


My skin tone has become a little more even, less damaged from sun exposure. I will continue this experiment until I get a better result.

Skinwhite Glutathione Hand & Body Lotion SPF 20

I have tried Skinwhite Lotion in the past. I was satisfied with its good effect on my skin. Now, Skinwhite has a new variety. Just the other day, I bought Skinwhite Glutathione Hand & Body Lotion SPF 20 in 10 ml sachet. I just want to try it first before buying a big bottle of this product. A 10 ml sachet of this lotion costs Php19.45 (Philippine Peso) or around US$0.45. I purchased it a nearest grocery store in my place. I like this latest lotion from Skinwhite. This time, it has SPF content which is important for protection against the harmful heat of the sun. Before, whitening lotions were commonly used only when one was at home or at night time. It is very seldom to find extra SPF formula for whitening lotions. Another good thing about this product is its Glutathione content. Almost all of us are familiar about this stuff. It is a good antioxidant for the body and it results to skin whitening. So, this lotion is just so great if you want to achieve a fairer skin complexion. Anyway, after taking shower, I applied this right away on my body. I love its pleasant smell. I don’t have to use any perfumes if I put this lotion on. It easily absorbs on the skin leaving it smooth to touch. So far, I have not experienced any skin blemishes or irritation. My final verdict, I would highly recommend this product. I love the fact that it has dual purpose, protection against harmful UV Rays and its glutathione content. It is also cheaper compared to some other leading brands in the market with just the same or even better quality. I guess I would be using this product for a longer time.

Skin White Power Whitening

My latest beauty product discovery is the Skin White Power Whitening (Face Cream Powder). I only came across about the product while I was waiting in line at the Cashier in the grocery. I was curious about it being a face cream powder. Good thing they had the product available in sachets that I immediately bought one to try.


The product is available in 2 shades – light beige and white. Initially, I bought the white shade. When I applied it on my skin, I was amazed that it didn’t feel icky at all. The texture of the cream is soft that it felt so safe to spread across my face. The product acts as powder, moisturizer and coverage all at the same time.


I apply it in the evening and in the morning and I noticed that my skin is not oily anymore. I can actually apply the cream alone before going to work. No need to touch up with foundation. The light beige is also nice but the white shade blends better with my skin.
I love that it minimized the oil in my face and that I do not need to apply foundation anymore. Getting ready for work is more convenient now with my discovery of Skin White Power Whitening. Best part of the product is that its very affordable.

I always loved liquid foundation because it has the ability to stuck in my face for the entire day that I don’t need to retouch in between classes anymore. However, I think buying one every week would be quite impractical. That’s when I started looking out for an alternative. I came across with SkinWhite Power Whitening Face Cream Powder.


I’m using it as a part of my daily routine. Although, unlike my liquid foundation, I have to retouch by noon, it is still worth it. For a cheaper price, I was able to get the most budget-wise cosmetic products in the market.


This works as three in one: (1) It whitens; (2) It serves as a cream; and (3) It serves as a face powder.
Whitening. It noticeably whitened my skin. Although the product did not fulfill its promise of whitening the skin for seven days, it still performs its best and yielded a noticeable result two weeks after.
Cream. It served as a moisturizer of my face. Its texture is much that of my liquid foundation. I like it being in a cream texture because it sticks on my face upon application.
Powder. After application and as I spread out the mixture, the texture that it left my skin is so smooth and very ‘powderized’. It felt so soft and smooth that I can’t even tell its finish texture from my liquid foundation’s output.


I recommend this to everyone especially those teens who would like to save money and time when it comes to cosmetic choices. All three in one package makes it more apt for people who are busy yet do not want to sacrifice the time to apply on-the-rush beauty products.

I don’t like putting too much make-up on my face. I want it to look clean and more natural-looking as possible. But to achieve a natural-looking face even with some make-up on seems impossible. Until I have found a product that serves as a cream powder, moisturizer and makes my face whiter and smoother all in one.

I have used different Skin White products from Splash for a long time. And one of the product that certainly made a great appeal to me is their Skin White Power Whitening Face Cream Powder. It has 3-in-1 effect as the package says. It whitens, it moisturizes the skin and it is a face cream powder in one package. What I like about it is that it has three benefits that you don’t normally get on some other beauty products. I bought the 20g tube that is good for a month or two and I chose the natural beige color. I have noticed that the product is very light, non-sticky and has a long lasting shine-free powder finish. The cream base and texture of it are really easy to apply. It covers my unwanted marks and eye bags and make my skin glow more. It covers my skin imperfections at the same time moisturizes and whitens some of my dark spots. After seven days of using it I noticed that my skin lightens and it continues to whitens my skin.

I like it a lot! It’s very economical, imagine you could have three products in one. It is convenient and effective in making my skin more beautiful and radiant.

I’m embarrassed to say this but as early as ten years old, I already have a white hair. Those white hair that can be found in old people.

My mom decided to color my hair, so we search for a mild but effective color hair. It has to be mil since I still have a sensitive back then.

Since then I’ve been using this brand up until now that I’m in my twenties.

The black color of this brand really did a good job. Whenever I color my hair it doesn’t look like dull or looks like a wig but instead it gives my hair a vibrant and shiny hair color.

Now it has a hew product tat doesn’t only color your hair but also has the Dual Conditioning Hair Color which is also added with vitamin E and B5. This two vitamins are an essential factors for a glowing skin which also do the same to our hair. Cause without a healthy scalp a smooth and shiny hair is hard to get.

The matt color produce by other products are not the same with this brand. It has a touch of matt but its still shiny and has a smooth like texture which is best for Asian hair like me.
And because this new product is formulated for Asian hair which have a characteristic of more darker and thicker hair, this product is best for me.

Aside from its vibrant color that it can give me, it also has other benefits like the color is long lasting, with me it can last for almost seven to eight months.

Because of this easy to use products, I do may hair coloring in the comfort of my own home, with a little assistance from my sister it enables us to manage this task.

It doesn’t need other chemicals to give the color its vibrant that we want cause the products includes a hair shining creme and a hair colored conditioner that can be use for up to two or three days.

Kolours Hair Color - Light Brown

I never had anything done to my hair for the ever since, I guess I was just really afraid to do something with it cause I know it can really hurt my hair and make it really dry or something. I was thinking of getting my hair colored just to have something new and I was looking at those Do It Yourself colors because doing it in the parlor is quite expensive for me.

I tried Kolours Hair Color - Light Brown, and I really loved the result. It was really easy to use, with the instructions and all the materials you need already in the box. I had to use 2 boxes though cause I have a really long hair. While the hair color is on my hair, I felt a little warmness on my scalp, although I think it was the effect of the chemicals.

After I had washed my hair and blow dried it, the effect was really great, even though it ended up not as a light brown but more of a copper brown. My hair became straighter, and it’s as if I had a rebond instead of just a color. I really loved it, and I think after my black hair grows back, I’m going to color it again, cause the effect was just really awesome.

SkinWhite Whitening Hand and Body Lotion Review

A couple of years ago, I had a job as a lifeguard. I was required to stay out in the sun for long hours, and even though I was under an umbrella, my skin paid the price. I suffered some pretty severe skin damage that included irregular dark pigmentation. When I complained about this to a friend, she recommended I try SkinWhite Whitening Hand and Body Lotion Classic SPF20.

The first thing I noticed about SkinWhite Whitening Hand and Body Lotion Classic SPF20 was that it made my skin very soft and subtle. However, the first week, I did not notice any whitening effects at all. The instructions on the bottle said that it would work in as little as two weeks, so I kept applying it, but quite honestly, I couldn’t tell a difference in my skin tones for those two weeks. The only thing I did notice was that my skin took on a healthy glow and remained very soft and moist.

The SkinWhite Whitening Hand and Body Lotion Classic SPF20 itself is dispensed as a medium viscosity white cream. It feels a little bit lighter than the average hand lotion and is easier to smooth evenly on the skin. The instructions claimed that it was supposed to nourish the skin and I really believe that it did.

I continued to use SkinWhite Whitening Hand and Body Lotion Classic SPF20 for another week and then the results began to show quite suddenly. I applied the lotion one morning and by that afternoon, the brown discoloration had been visibly reduced. I kept applying the lotion day-after-day and eventually, most of the discoloration went away. The areas of brown that were still visible were much lighter than before, barely discernable.

The main active ingredient in SkinWhite Whitening Hand and Body Lotion Classic SPF20 is called, Vitanourish. I’m not sure exactly what that is, but whatever it is, it works. It just doesn’t work as quickly as the company claimed it would. I am not complaining, though, because eventually, it did work and I felt a lot better about the way my skin looked.

I recommend SkinWhite Whitening Hand and Body Lotion Classic SPF20 for anyone who has the type of discoloration that I described or for anyone who would simply like to lighten their skin for any reason. The results are subtle at first, but after awhile, you will really be able to tell that it has made a difference.

What I like about SkinWhite

A recent gem that I found in the groceries is this face cream powder from SkinWhitemanufactured and distributed by Splash (a Philippine-based company).

Here’s my review about this product.

What I like:

1. After applying the cream on your face, it magically transforms into a powder. How cool is that? So there’s none of that eeky, sticky and slimy feeling on your face. It also leaves a long-lasting shine-free powder finish.

2. It’s very affordable at 59.75Php for a 0.70 oz/20g tube. Also available in sachets if you want something more economical and easier on the pocket.

3. It can be used as a make-up foundation. There are 2 available colors I have seen, the white and the light beige. The light beige can very much pass up for a liquid foundation ( I’m just not too sure about the white variant). It can conceal pimple marks and blemishes.

4. The smell is uber nice. Smells like a scented baby powder.

5. It didn’t give me a pimple breakout the first time I used it.

Other things that it also claims (I have yet to prove it. Hahaha!)

6. It has SPF10 which protects you from the harmful rays of the sun.

7. Its Vitanourish Formula keeps the skin moisturized.

8. It whitens your skin in as fast as 7 days.
